Big Purchases and a Little Progress

Well I found something very interesting this week.....

A little background first - When Chevrolet would finish a Camaro at the Norwood, Ohio plant, they would ship the car to Yenko Chevrolet in Pennsylvania for the Supercar transformation. There would be about a week lag time here before they could order the 427 shortblock from a 435HP motor. This made for a week or so in date differences on the car and the motor. Tribute cars, clones or whatever you want to call them are rated as to how accurately they are built. How close are the date codes? The options? The configuration?

My car was built the 2nd week of January, 1967. This week I found a 4351 block (1967 427) from a 435HP motor. The date on the block? Januray 24th 1967. The 3rd week of Januray! I could not find a more perfect motor if I tried! So the block is on the way, the heads are here and I am dropping the rear end off for build-up tomorrow so stay tuned!!!
